Isn't it weird that nothing happens for ages and then everything comes at once? This week has been a biggie. Firstly I managed to land an internship at Aldeburgh Music which will keep me in (pretty well) paid work until December which is pretty great in itself. It does come with quite a bit of weekend and evening work but also free entry to concerts (Bellowhead in the summer as a highlight for me).
Because Aldeburgh is based at Snape Maltings (out in the sticks for people that don't know it) I need a car so I went and got one. A Peugeot 106 for £350 seems like a bargain to me. No more extortionate bus trips to Ipswich.
The best thing about all of this is that I don't have to talk to the Jobcentre and their assorted minions, associates and other bureaucrats for at least 8 months. Just got out before I had to get involved with the malware magnet that is Universal Jobmatch. With a little luck I should be able to get another job after this internship ends without too much of a gap.
All in all things seem to have turned a corner. Hopefully the luck will continue for the rest of the day. I've got a tenner on Seabass in the Grand National. Giddyup.
